If you are visiting us in person, we ask that you:
-sanitize your hands upon entering the church, before and after receiving Communion
-wear a mask
-bring your own hand sanitizer
-respect social distancing guidelines by staying 6’ apart from other families/parishioners

St. Gabriel’s, in accordance with safety and sanitizing procedures recommended by NYS, is taking the following steps:

-Every other pew has been cordoned off
-Journeysong books have been removed
-Pews spray sanitized between each mass
-Commonly touched surfaces (door handles, etc) sanitized between each mass
-Hand sanitizing stations located throughout church
-Priests, Deacon, Eucharistic Ministers hand sanitizing before, (and in some cases, during), Communion (as was always our practice)

Frequently Asked Questions:

-What Masses do you expect to be the busiest?  Saturday at 4pm, and Sunday at 10am are expected to be our busiest times and we would expect the overflow area to be most used, so either choose to attend another less attended mass or plan ahead and bring a chair or blanket.

-Do I have to wear a mask? NYS Guidelines state that “masks shall be required to cover their nose any individual who is over age two and able to medically tolerate a face-covering shall be required to cover their nose and mouth with a mask or cloth face-covering when in a public place and unable to maintain, or when not maintaining, social distance.”

-What if I am sick? Do not come to mass if you are sick, vulnerable, or have shown are exhibiting any symptoms of COVID19. Watch us online through St. Gabriel’s YouTube station for Noon Mass each Sunday.

-What can we do to help the church? Be patient, and give grace. This situation continues to be new to all of us, and things continue to change. Pray for our church, parishioners, and the situations around us. If you cannot attend in person, we urge you to continue to support the church through online giving (link on homepage of stgabeschurch.com). You can also view our website to see what ministries we have and volunteer your time and talent to help as well.

-What if I don’t regularly attend a church, can I still come? St. Gabriel’s welcomes new parishioners and families, as always!

-What if I am a Lector, Eucharistic Minister or other volunteer? We encourage you to reach out to your coordinator. Information is available through our website at stgabeschurch.com.

-When are Confessions? Confessions are 7:30am weekdays, 11 am Tuesdays & Fridays and 3:15pm Saturday.

-Are there daily masses? Monday-Friday 8am, 11:30am; 7:30am Daily Rosary
Saturday 7:30am (Rosary), 8am (Mass)

-Will there be more outdoor masses? Stay tuned for announcements through the warmer months on possible outdoor masses. They will be announced through our website and social media.

-What if I have Faith Formation or Sacrament questions? Please contact the FF Office at 668-2070.

We are very grateful for your patience, flexibility and willingness to hang in there while we continue to assess and adhere to safety guidelines and protocols. Thank you to the volunteers that help in so many areas of our church. God bless!  If you have any specific needs at this time, please contact the Rectory at 716-668-4017.

A MESSAGE FROM
FATHER WALTER GRABOWSKI

Picture
Welcome to St Gabriel Our Lady of Sorrows Church!  You are blessed because you are visiting our church's way of communicating via technology for evangelization.

I pray for you that you will find whatever you are searching for: information about our masses, sacraments, ministries, activities or simply looking for spiritual guidance and a way to deepen your faith.  May the Holy Spirit enrich you with the light and wisdom in your life.

I encourage you to stop by our place of worship- our beautiful church- so you may learn more about the Catholic faith and love for God.  We have many masses and encourage you to pick one that works for you and your family.

There are many activities, ministries and groups for young and old- many who share their talents and God-given gifts with our church and who find fulfillment in our church family.

May the Lord bless you and your loved ones.  You are in my heart, and my prayers.

Yours,
Father Walter, Pastor
